“Sopranos” is a no-go

There’s a premiere screening of the first two episodes of the final season of The Sopranos tomorrow night at the Radio City Music Hall, plus an after-party with the cast somewhere…terrific. Just got into town, didn’t do my advance homework, there’s no chance of attending and this is the end of the line.

  1. Well if the last batch of episodes is any indication the first four of this set will be on the internet a few days before the premiere of the first.

  2. Wells to Massey nd Circumvent: Not getting myself into the final “Sopranos” bash at the Radio City Music Hall last night wasn’t brutal or exhausting — it was heartbreaking. I’ve felt a profound familial closeness with this crew since ’99 and now it’s bye-bye time and I’m sorry, but it’s a little sad. And I wanted to revel/share in that expression. If it hadn’t been within my reach to attend, it wouldn’t have mattered and who cares? Watch the series when it starts airing on April 8th like everyone else and so what? But in the words of the great Hyman Roth, this is is the business we’ve chosen and it WAS within my grasp.

  3. I was just kidding, Jeff. I life in Jersey, and have seen them filming since the second season. I watched the first episode the first time it aired and I was hooked ever since. I was a freshman in High School when it began, and now, when it’s all said and done, it’ll end roughly a year after I graduated college.

I feel your pain, brother. You should do a weekly Sopranos column, ala Zoller Seitz’s last season. I know this is HOLLYWOOD Elsewhere, but this isn’t TV…it’s HBO.

  4. jeff– just call them…the first two eps were sent out a week ago to tca folk….and those parties are just a pain in the ass….
