Live Democratic debate

Hollywood Elsewhere will have a seat at L.A.’s Kodak Theatre (i.e., where the Oscars have happened for the last few years) this coming Thursday for the final Democratic Primary debate — Obama, Clinton, Edwards — prior to “tsunami Tuesday” on 2.5. The show will air from 5 pm to 7 pm Pacific.

  1. Are you going because you’re interested in politics or because you want to actually sit in the same theater where the Oscars are handed out?

  2. Well, you’re going to see history, especially if Edwards takes his ego out of the race.
I saw Obama’s speech after the Kennedy endorsement and saw a President. Period. End of story.
We can debate substance later, but I saw a President.

  3. DH-
I know it makes not a whit of intellectual sense, but what you just said is what I’ve been trying to convey to my friends for the past few months now.
I see Obama, and regardless of specific stances on issues, I see a guy who I really want to be my President. A guy I would be proud to say is my President.
I know that’s not *exactly* what you said, but that’s my re-interpretation.

  4. Let’s also all pay a moment of tribute to the Giuliani campaign as it nears its last gasp.
Harry, apologies for meeting your genuine and non-bitter comment with some bitterness of my own, but I was listening to the State of the Union and I _still_ can’t get over GWB being President. Listening to him talk is like listening to a high school kid read his older brother’s term paper.

  5. MattyC, Jeff — Anyone who says Obama doesn’t carry himself like The President Of The United States is a liar. The man oozes charm, class, smarts, and most important — competence. It’s just a fact. And he’s the best candidated the Dems have come up with since JFK. He will be very hard for my side to stop. But stop him we must for the good of the country and world.
But all of us on this site will be beating each other bloody in the coming months over policy. No reason to start now.
However, if Obama wins the nomination, he will have earned my undying love for vanquishing and exposing the degenerate, lying, scum bags that are the Clintons into oblivion. Watching Bill bare his ass and take a shit all over his legacy this past month has been as beautiful as a Sinatra standard.
That ego-maniac was positive the Dems would christen him and the American people would restore him to his rightful place and now his own beloved party has turned on him. You have no idea how gratifying that is to watch. Obama’s played the Clintons like a fiddle, letting them hang themselves, and stew in their own race-bating jucies. Bee-yoo-tee-full.
