So I can’t wait ’till WB releases a new Dark Knight trailer

  2. I can’t believe they might actually pull this off. Downey looks very funny in this and not at all what I’d expected. Hopefully he’ll be able to push it a notch above the normal super hero faire.
Speaking of which, where in the devil is a Hulk trailer?

  3. This looks fantastic. I mean, it looks like they’ve really got Ironman. Downey rocks. I can’t wait to see this. But D.Z. is right…what the hell is up with that “tank shot” sequence? What the hell is with that look? Seems completely out of place. The rest of it, though…hot damn…he’s always been my favorite superhero…he’s always been the closest to what could one day maybe be real…I can’t wait to see this.

  4. Not for nothing, but all the comic book tentpole flicks this summer look pretty damn solid. I like the people behind the cameras of these flicks.I can’t really speak for Hulk having not seen any of it aside from a still. But I trust the director of Unleashed and Edward Norton to deliver something pretty damn entertaining. (Even if we are denied a Nolte return).

  5. I’ve read elsewhere that the tank sequence is actually from Starks’ VR training. Sounds kind of fishy, but we’ll see. Looks awesome.

  7. I honestly can’t believe how eagerly I’m anticipating this movie.. Can the trailer does any kind of justice to the movie (or vice versa)?? Could it be as pitch perfect as the trailer suggests? God I hope so.
The ‘money shot’ in the first trailer was Iron Man accelerating aay from the fighter jets..here it’s when he puts on the air brakes. It just looks..cool. The 16 year old in me was yelping with excitement.
Reminds me of the original Mission Impossible trailer. The shot the explosion in the subway sending Tom Cruise flying towards the camera..
Any other suggestions of ‘money shots’ in trailers, and whether they did the movie justice?
I was impressed by the ‘Jumper’ trailer, and we all know how that turned out..

  8. Gittes, you might be right on that one. If there is, it’s pretty subtle. The only thing rumored (character-wise) that will be CG in The Dark Knight is (SEMI-SPOILER) the scarring on Two-Face.
As for this Iron Man trailer, it’s pretty frickin’ sweet. I’m sure Don Murphy will have something to say about it, but he’ll be wrong. This looks solid.

  9. This isn’t the one that played with Lost. The link for this trailer is a good one…but that one that played with Lost…wow…that was an awesome trailer.

  11. He hates CGI? There sure is a lot of it in this trailer, and none of it looks very convincing.
Still, Downey as Tony Stark is inspired casting, to say the least. I have high hopes for Iron Man, but not so much for the practical effects extravaganza that I was originally hoping for.

  12. Love Guru looks like a huge turd (I’m so fucking sick of Mike Meyers’ arched fucking eyebrow popping up all over the internet today). This is nothing but a Hindu Austin Powers (replace the free loving swinging 60′s with the transcendental movement of the 60′s and 70′s).
However, and I’m not sure why, but I laughed really hard at the Justin Timberlake part. I hate the kid’s music but he sure is a funny guy.

  13. CGI in Dark Knight trailer? Ahhh…Yeah. The money shot of the Bat-cycle (or whatever it’s called) brushing up against the Joker on the streets before skidding around? The opening shot of Batman riding up the on-ramp? The CGI looks good, yeah, but it’s also using Nolan’s color schema and shot during the evening, which helps tremendously. Still, unless Ledger had a death wish they wouldn’t have actually filmed that.
I was about 3/4 done with that sentence before having my Gob Bluth “huge mistake”-moment.

  14. THE LOVE GURU does indeed look terrible but it scores some points for saving Justin Timberlake until the end. Is that actually his role? His evolution pleases me greatly.

  15. The word “evolution” and “JustinTimberlake” do not belong near each other. Let him stick to hawking McDonalds, Pepsi and cologne.
My friend worked on this and she claims it’s very funny. She also said Jessica Alba has as much depth as a thimble. This looks like Myers version of THE PARTY.

  16. The trailer this links to isn’t the newest one, the CGI on the “training” shot is much, much better now. And while Jon wanted to do as much practical as possible, he had to use CGI, I mean c’mon the dude is in an iron suit! If any, any, superhero movie could get away with CGI it would be Iron Man. Seems tailor made for it.
Otherwise this just looks frickin’ awesome!
On a side note, isn’t Iron Man the FIRST all Marvel production? I believe it is.

  17. Dirty Harry vets IRON MAN (???):
Frequently I’m accused of jumping the gun and judging a film before seeing it. What’s interesting about this criticism is that it only ever applies to those of us on the right who criticize based on ideology. Even though there’s an entire industry made up of people who pre-judge films and fuss over every detail from the trailer to casting to production rumors… It’s only conservatives who are ever dismissed with, “Well, did you see the movie?” What’s odd about this criticism is that given Hollywood’s decades-long war on all things American and conservative you’d think people would understand we’re on much firmer ground than all the other pre-judgers, but I’m just sounding all defensive now, so let’s get to it…
