McCain-Pawlenty
Republican presidential candidate John McCain decided on a running mate early Thursday,” the AP’s Liz Sidoti reported a little while ago, “and one top prospect, Minnesota Gov. Tim Pawlenty, abruptly canceled numerous public appearances. Without explanation, Pawlenty called off an Associated Press interview at the last minute, as well as other media interviews in Denver, site of the Democratic National Convention. The Arizona senator will appear with his No. 2 at an Ohio rally on Friday.”
It’s going to be Romney unless McCain is a moron …
Pawlenty sounds like a good guy on paper (middle class roots, common sense, down to earth) but every time I see a picture of the guy he looks like a push over. I think Biden would run him over in the debates. Though if he stands back he can probably make Biden look like a foolish jerk.
I think he could probably win Minnesota for McCain and I think you would see a trickle down effect through bordering states like Iowa and down as far as Missouri.
Biden will wipe the floor with him.
At least McCain wasn’t dumb enough to pick Joe “Republican Talking Points Parrot” Lieberman.
McCain’s not taking Minnesota w/ or w/o Pawlenty. He’s not a particularly popular governor and we just don’t go right-wing with our presidential votes. Ever. (God, I hope I don’t end up eating my words here… but I just can’t see it happening.)
McCain will never take Minnesota, as YND says. It does seem like Pawlenty will be the guy though, which doesn’t seem to really excite anyone.
