Milestone

Celebrating the first-ever HE post from 35,000 feet! American Airlines’ Gogo “air” is pretty fast, I must say. We’re somewhere over New Mexico, my laptop is jammed up against the seat in front of me, and the American stewardesses are graciously selling turkey and cheese sandwiches for $10.

  1. Every now and then you get a flight that’s fairly pleasant, considering. No sea lions sitting next to me, ofr even nearby. The person in front has the good manners not to lean her seat back too far (unlike certain assholes I’ve encountered in flights past). It’s not luxurious but it’s fine, all fine.

  2. I never recline my seat out of my respect for the person behind me (unless that person is an asshole) because I know how much I hate it when someone does it to me.

When someone does drop their seat on my knees (especially the ones who do it abruptly and forcefully enough to dislodge my patellas), I jam my knees right into their seatback and push until I have reestablished and least a few more inches of legroom.

Anyways, reclining your seat doesn’t really make coach that much more tolerable.
