I don’t even necessarily think it’s a pro-Batman poster (the possibility didn’t even occur to me until you guys started bitching), as much as it is an anti-Oscar one. It’s very fitting with the iconic character’s anti-establishment viewpoint, as well as a nice little allusion to the DVD case for the Dark Knight. After all, he was one of the most memorable characters of the year (despite what you thought of the movie as a whole), and is up for an Academy Award.
Jesus, you guys are taking things a bit too seriously ’round here.
I disagree with sentiment that omitting The Dark Knight is out of touch (and I did immediately think that was the intent), but I still got a kick out of this.
Still, CitizenKaned has a good point that works on a more general level as well.
