Roald Dahl-ing
The Fantastic Mr. Fox junketers are visiting Great Missenden, the home of author Roald Dahl -- small village, slightly chill air, about 40 kilometers northwest of London. I have a very short break between interviews and cups of cider so I'm posting these. Nothing of any substance until this evening, and even then...

"Dahl probably wrote Mr. Fox as an animal version of himself." -- quote from
Fox voicer Jason Schwartzman.

"I'm seven years old now and my father died at 7 and 1/2. I don't want to live in a hole any more."

Adjacent to Great Missenden train station -- Tuesday, 10.13, 11:25 am.

Facsimile of chair and writing tray that Roald Dahl wrote from for God-knows-how-many-years.

Too bad you don't get to hang out with his granddaughter, Sophie Dahl:

I love Roald Dahl, always have. Have you read his adult short stories? He was very clever but cheeky and had a naughty sense of humor, too. He's also written some dark stories about serious issues (like racism)-- "Poison" one of my favourites.

He had some fairly shady views on Jews, but then again seemed to contradict himself on those too. But as an author he is one of the all-time greats, really. Certainly the best children's author I can think of.

I absolutely love Roald Dahl, and so I admit it: I'm jealous. More succinctly, at this moment I am burning with passionate envy. As DeafBrown mentions, he also wrote some terrific adult short stories...my favorites are the "Uncle Oswald" stories, of which there are several. The collection Switch Bitch is a good place to start.

He also wrote the screenplay for You Only Live Twice, the most surreal of all the Bond films! (Blofeld's volcano lair, etc)

"I have a 2001 F250 2x4 V-10. I currently pull a 30' 5th wheel weighing 7800'. I am looking to upgrade the 5th wheel but want to find out the maximum weight that I can tow before I upgrade. I have searched high & low only to find several different answers. Anywhere from 10,00 to 14,500 maximum weight.
Can anyone give me the correct maximum towing capacity for my F250? I believe that I have the 3.73 axle. f250 towing capacity
