    I thought it was that horrible “Only in America” by Jay and the Americans. I like Paul Revere and the Raiders. They had some good songs. So you’re saying that fratboys and jocks were into this band back in the day?

  • lazarus

    For what it’s worth, Paul Revere & the Raiders also released a cover of “Indian Reservation (The Lament of the Cherokee Reservation Indian)”, about the Trail of Tears. Certainly not a subject that most Republicans would be overly sensitive to.

  • R. Hunt

    I’m pretty sure that Paul Revere and the Raiders had a strong fratboy following. One of their first hits (regionally) was a cover version of “Louie Louie”. Not so sure about their politics, though. As I recall, one member was drafted and went to Vietnam. But Hubert Humphrey made several appearances on their tv show during the ’68 campaign.

    So I’m trying to imagine the circumstances that lead someone to 1) hear a moldy oldie by a C-list classic rock name like this, and 2) think that it makes a stunning political point.

    I mean, you know what totally sums up Republican greed and venality to me? Monterey Jack cheese.

  • Jeffrey Wells

    The song expresses the general thinking that almost every male Republican has probably had in his head in his late teens or early 20s. That’s all I’m saying.

  • Glenn Kenny

    What about “Just Like Me?”

  • trollywood

    Oh please Jeff. You’re saying that Bill Clinton wasn’t totally creaming his jeans when this hit the airwaves in Little Rock?

  • Travis Crabtree

    Nail on the head. You see, there’s something you need to know about your Republican, particularly one in his early to mid-twenties. (BTW, I feel perfectly qualified to talk about this… I’ve actually met a handful of Republicans in real life throughout the years, not to mention I lived a couple of blocks from a frat house back in college)

    Interestingly, many of them don’t wear their evil on their sleeves. In fact, some of them will occasionally show no outward signs of hatred or narrow-mindedness. Fortunately I’ve learned to be able to see through the phony smiles and insincere platitudes they often try to fool so many with.

    I hope everyone here listens to that song. Wake up, people. There are Republicans all around us. Maybe somebody you know. A co-worker. A fellow student. That friendly person at the coffee shop. Oh, they’re out there.

    Lying, cheating, greedy, bigoted, evil bastards. Every goddamn one of ‘em.

  • Jeffrey Wells

    No, but Boehner and Limbaugh creamed much, much harder. Because they’re both demonic evil Devil-spawn whereas Slick Willie just wants a little love (i.e., poon) to make the day go a little nicer.

  • SpinDozer

    Jeez Jeff. If you were as ignorant of other subjects as you are about pop music, you’d almost certainly be a Republican.

  • Travis Crabtree

    Democrat = Good

    Republican = Bad

    We get it.

    Can we go back to movies, now?

  • Ronald McFirbank

    Jeff

    You realize you just posted what you think is a defense of a lame “insgiht” that these Gopers creamed their jeans more than Clinton.

    Do you have any idea how this make syou sound? Do you think it has any bearing on your vision of reality?

    I salute your willingness to publicity embarrass yourself, but I worry you’re heading for a future Rop Torn mug shot.

    Especialy for the insiders that work years like Chartier, and I have no doubt that it hurt him a lot to not be able to be there when his film may get the Hollywood most important honor. In fact, if didnt mean so much he wouldnt have sent all those silly emails.Fragrances for Women

    The idea behind AnyClip is to engage casual viewers who are curious about this or that film (or who are looking to investigate a flick they vaguely remember in terms of a line of dialogue or a character or an actor, but can’t recall the title of) and prompt them to go to NetFlix or Amazon and rent/purchase. That or just surf around on this site for hours and waste your entire day.ImHosted Hosting Review
