An iPhone repair site called iResQ has posted photos of a possibly authentic representation of the forthcoming iPhone 4G. The big news is that it's about 1/4 inch taller than the iPhone 3G . The 4G is supposed to come out sometime this summer. I may not be able to get it because of the terms of my AT&T contract. Everyone really despises AT&T, and with good reason.

Can't believe I clicked on the "good reason" link. That guy needs to go visit a cancer ward or something. Fuck. Getting frustrated over something as trivial as a mobile phone is one thing ... but filming yourself and posting it online in some over-dramatized scripted screed is just vulgar.
Jeff -- You know you CAN get the "4g" or whatever it will be called by paying the unsubsidized price that APPLE charges. Why should AT&T help pay for you to get a new phone every 12 months? What kind of warped sense of entitlement do you have? And where are your concerns about consumerism and materialism when it comes to the crap that you buy?

$600 fucking dollars for a new phone while I'm paying $280 monthly for myself and my two sons with 2000 minutes per months and unlimited texting? The money is in the monthlies for AT&T, not the phone itself. I'd love to go into the jungle and mount a Che Guevara peoples campaign against them.

Why are you mad a AT&T? Apple's the company that signed the exclusive arrangement with them. Take your rage out on them.

LMAO at all these Iphone tools. Such a wate of money. Honestly, anyone on ATT and anyone with one of these things deserves all the trouble.

the worst thing about att is their coverage--it's atrocious. my iphone friends have constant dropped calls. (at least i assume it's att, not apple, since apple can do no wrong)
if i were them i would cut you a break given the monthly payments you are forking over, JW. then again if i were you i'd stop paying for a luxe phone for my kids.

Oh, #1 reason for me is that AT&T rolled over and played puppydog when GWBush decided he needed unrestricted, warrantless surveillance of domestic communications. SCUM of the earth (both Bush and AT&T). Much as I like Apple stuff, they're out to make bucks and don't care that much more about their policies than any other corporation, apparently. Alas.

The only legit pics of the next Iphone will come in the form of leaked pics usually a day before the official announcement. Expect a new model Iphone this summer with a revamped look (perhaps aluminum on the front below and above the screen. Also a larger screen (between 3.8 - 4.2 inches) and thinner phone. The one "home" button will most likely remain.

Wells should cut his kids off. Don't they have jobs? Get them one of those prepaid deals where its like 50 a month for unlimited web/calls/text.

Several sites -- and the NYTimes -- ran posts on how of tech research firms ran tests on coverage, speed, etc., of Verizon and other networks versus AT&T. AT&T showed up as being pretty comparable to the rest...which led some to wonder if the "dropped calls" syndrome has to do with the iPhone's hardware, not the network. I hope not, but AT&T may be getting somewhat of a bum rap.
