“There she was, thrown to the pavement by a Republican in a checkered shirt. Another Republican thrusts his foot in between her legs and presses down with all his weight to pin her to the curb. Then a Republican leader comes over and viciously stomps on her head with his foot. You hear her glasses crunch under the pressure. Holding her head down with his foot, he applies more force so she can’t move. Her skull and brain are now suffering a concussion.

“The young woman’s name is Lauren Valle, but she is really all of us. For come this Tuesday, the right wing — and the wealthy who back them — plan to take their collective boot and bring it down hard on not just the head of Barack Obama but on the heads of everyone they simply don’t like.

“Teachers union? The boot!

“Muslim-looking people? The boot!

“Thinking of retiring soon? The boot!

“Living in a house you can no longer afford? The boot!

Doing a bit better with your minimum wage? The boot!

“Stem cell research, the bullet train, reversing global warming? Ha! The boot for all of you!

“What? You like your kids being covered by your health plan ’til they’re 26? The boot for them and the boot for you!

“In love with someone of your own gender? A double boot up the ass for every single one of you sick SOBs!

“Hoping there’s a few jobs left here in the U.S. when you graduate? How ’bout just a nice boot to your head instead?

“And most importantly, the last boot is saved for the black man who probably wasn’t born here, definitely isn’t a Christian and possibly might be the Antichrist sent here to oversee the destruction of our very way of life. A boot to your head, Obama-devil!

“Yes, one big boot is poised to stomp out whatever hopey-changey thing we might have had two years ago and secure this country in the hands of the oligarchs and the culture police.

“And if they win on Tuesday, they plan to show no mercy. They will not speak of bipartisanship or olive branches or tolerate any filibuster threats. They will come in and do the job with a mandate they’ll perceive the electorate will have given them. They will not fart around for two years like the Democrats did. They will not ‘search for compromise” or ‘find middle ground.’ They will not meet you halfway on the playing field. They know that touchdowns aren’t scored at the 50-yard line. Unlike our guys, they’re not stupid or spineless.

“Make no mistake about it, my friends. A perfect storm has gathered of racists, homophobes, corporatists and born-agains, and they are on fire. Two years of a black man who secretly holds socialist beliefs being the boss of them is more than they can stomach. They’ve been sick to death since the night of 11/04/08 and they are ready to purge. They won’t need a rope and tree this time to effect the change they seek (why bother when a nice shoe on another’s skull will do just fine, thank you).

“They simply need to get their base to the polls (done), convince enough people Obama is responsible for the fact they don’t have a job or a secure home (done), and then hope enough of us Obama-voters are so frustrated, disappointed and downright mad at the Dems (done) that we’ll either stay home Tuesday or, if we vote, we won’t be carpooling with 10 others to the polls.

“Done? Or not?

“These Republicans mean business. Their boots are all shined and ready. But they’ve got one huge problem:

“The majority of Americans don’t agree with them.

“The majority want the troops home. The majority want true universal health coverage. The majority want the thievery on Wall Street to be stopped. The majority believe that global warming is happening, that social security shouldn’t be privatized and that unions are a good thing.

“Too bad the majority party has done precious little to bring about the change for which the majority voted. Yes, change takes time. But try telling that to someone who hasn’t worked in two years. Or who hears the knock of the foreclosure sheriff at the door. The booted-up minority knows how to make hay in a situation like this. All they need is us, the disappointed, dismayed, disgusted us.

“What say you? Stay home and punish the weak-kneed, sell-out Democrats? Or spend every free moment you have between now and Tuesday trying to protect what little progress has been made so we can live to fight another day (even if it is with ‘allies’ like a Democratic Party that will more than likely still not get the message of what they need to do–and has, in fact, spent much of the past two years giving progressives the boot)? Perhaps our job, post-election, is to provide a gentle but swift boot in the bee-hind of the party whose mascot is an ass.

“Right now, we’ve got 72 hours. Seems like enough.” — Michael Moore.

“The majority of Americans don’t agree with them.”

The majority of Americans are SICK of both political parties. This election won’t be about the voters embracing the Republicans. It sure as hell is not about the voters embracing the Democrats. It’s about the voters saying “to hell with all of you.”

Why is it next to impossible for a third or fourth party to rise in this country?? Why do fairly logical parties like the Libertarians never even make a showing? Is it purely about a lack of money, or is it something else.

It’s pretty disheartening to think that the last person to make a serious run at a third party was mildly-insane billionaire Ross Perot.

  • Thunderballs

This incident was terrible, just as when the SEIU thugs beat up Kenneth Gladney for handing out fliers at a town hall meeting.

Why does left wing violence always get ignored?

  • drbob

Looks like Mike has been losing some weight. Good for him.

  • Rashad

I guess no one told that guy New Orleans had a Democratic mayor and governor when Katrina happened.

  • bill weber

“Why is it next to impossible for a third or fourth party to rise in this country??”

As Hal Holbrook said, “Follow the money.”

  • crazynine

You know what happened *just before* Ms. Valle got her head stomped?

She ran past Paul’s security into traffic and shoved a sign into Paul’s car at his face.

While in hindsight they overreacted– I refuse to justify a headstomp, heat of the moment or not– the simple fact is, she ran up to an open car window in a threatening manner. Period. Full stop.

She could have had a gun, she could have had a knife, she could have had anything. At that moment, what do those people know?

But telling THAT story doesn’t allow Michael Moore and his friends to be the victims of a thugocracy imagined only within their own minds.

Remind me again what happens when you rush through a crowd at, say, the President’s car.

    I’ll wait.

  • C is for cookie

Ray, how are the libertarians logical? Their platform — cut all government spending and let the private sector take care of everything — assumes that we live in some fantasy world where people aren’t out for themselves, that there’s no need for a safety net because opportunity abounds around every corner and people will contribute to the common good.

Oh, by all means, keep on swallowing the kool-aid that if government stopped spending on education, the billiionaires would step up and fund the schools not just in their lush zip codes but also in underpriviledged areas. If we cut out social security, the private sector would rise up to see to it that the elderly and disabled are taken care of and given proper medical care. If we were to get ride of those pesky unemployment benefits, the private sector would suddenly magically pull millions of new jobs out of its ass.

I’d love it if that happened. But it assumes a view of human nature that, to put it simply, doesn’t exist.

  • K. Bowen

THank goodness Michael Moore was there to witness the event so he could bring us this accurate and impartial account.

  • Travis Crabtree

While Moore’s first hand account is stirring, I’ll reserve my full judgement until after I see the upcoming three hour MSNBC documentary “Triumph of the Republikkkan: the Stompening”.

Democrats did this to themselves. What makes it difficult for Democrats is that they want to be just as corrupt as Republicans, but appear to be against said corruption. And they expect us to deal with it because they’re not as bad as Republicans for the small chance that some weak bill full of loopholes will get through. Nah. The system is broken, american democracy is a facade, american superiority is a myth, and we’re a dying empire enjoying its last gasp. the world is laughing at us and with good reason. idk. in france they’re shutting down the entire country in protest because they want to raise the retirement age by 2 years, here, we protest to protect tax cuts for the rich.

“While in hindsight they overreacted– I refuse to justify a headstomp, heat of the moment or not– the simple fact is, she ran up to an open car window in a threatening manner. Period. Full stop.”

Don’t kid yourself, Crazynine, you are absolutely justifying these morons stomping on her head.

As are Tballs, and Crabtree. The usual suspects when it comes to condoning vicious, violent behavior from the right.

  • Y’know… I understand that it’s done “for effect” and the people actually in charge can’t possibly put any genuine stock in it, but the thing I get the most sick of during any politica period is hearing about “the majority of Americans.” (re: “the majority with us,” “the majority wants…,” “we’re the REAL majority” and so on.)

Firstly… who fucking CARES what the “majority” of Americans thinks about anything? Do people not realize that the whole point of a Republic is to prevent majority-consensus mob rule? That representative government is designed SPECIFICALLY to prevent the majority from automatically overruling the minority? Every single thing about American democracy – seperate branches, two houses of Congress, independent judiciary, presidential veto – exists to provide the opportunity to stop “the will of the majority” dead in it’s tracks if it’s wrong.

Secondly… even if you’re just doing it “for effect,” what’s the point? “The majority of Americans” are fucking IDIOTS! Reality TV watching, Michael Bay enjoying, news-ignoring, ignorance-lionizing, forienger-fearing idiotis – why am I supposed to be impressed that they’re “with you?” If anything, it should make me LESS likely to join up.

This is why the media “puzzlement” over the Tea Party phenomenon is so hillariously infuriating: One guy says “this is clearly a movement mostly of ignorant, xenophobic, reactionary people terrified of cultural-evolution.” The other guy says, “No they aren’t! They represent the values and ‘face’ of most average, everyday, ordinary Americans!” And the press is all like “um… well… which is it?” Because they either don’t realize or can’t admit that it’s BOTH.

  • dangovich

Good work, George. Let’s not forget freedom-loving Alaskan senatorial candidate Joe Miller:

  • George Prager

Lisa Murkowski (of all people) hits the nail on the head with this commercial:

  • Cadavra

Personally, I can’t wait for the Tea Partiers to take over. And when the imbeciles who voted for them begin losing their jobs and/or homes and/or savings and/or health insurance and/or privacy and/or the ability to leave their homes without being assaulted by gun-toting vigilantes…then, maybe then, they’ll realize what colossal morons they are.

Naaah, who’m I kidding? They’ll still blame Obama.

  • 62Lincoln

“Naaah, who’m I kidding? They’ll still blame Obama.”

Because a lot of those “imbeciles” are the same ones who voted for Obama. I guess they weren’t imbeciles 2 years ago.

  • Manitoba

I don’t understand why people who get mad at Democrats opt to vote for the even worse Republicans. Yet I have just read a Wall Street Journal story “Swing Voters Are Flocking To The GOP.”It claims independents are frustrated with President Obama. Quote:”Some of the GOP say it could win as many as 70 House seats, a feat not achieved since 1948 and well beyond the 39 it needs to seize control.” The mention of 1948 reminds me of another moment of premature optimism: Harry Truman holding up the Chicago Tribune headline “Dewey Defeats Truman.” Maybe a miracle will happen and Americans will not shoot themselves in the foot. One can dream.

  • Thunderballs

Bukowski20 frowns on right wing violence, yet celebrates when Left wing SEIU thugs beat up a black conservative for no good reason.

Remember Kenneth Gladney! And remember all the Leftists pissing their pants over the MoveOn chick who ignored the Gladney story.

Violence knows no politics! But Bukowski20 does. He supports violence committed by Left wingers.

  • George Prager

You mean Kenny Gladney, the guy who walked away from the “assault” by “SEIU thugs” and then showed up at a rally the next day in a wheelchair? The one who apparently was unable to speak on televison because of his injuries but couldn’t stop talking in other television interviews? The one who protested against the health care bill but sought donations for his medical bills from the “beating” because he didn’t have health insurance, but then his lawyer said he had health insurance through his wife (he was just unemployed)? That Kenny Gladney?

Next you’ll be saying that you feel “uncomfortable” when boarding a plane with someone wearing a t-shirt endorsing a tea-party-approved candidate.

The Tea Party is the political action movement of Peace.

How dare you take one incident………(and so on)

  • Travis Crabtree

    Merry Christmas, Lefties!

The Valle stomping is a great big present wrapped with a bow. Finally, FINALLY, and incident to prove that ALL tea-party people are violent, viscous, thugs. (I was going to add racist, but unfortunately for you Valle wasn’t a minority….oh well, can’t win ’em all)

Enjoy dining out on this one for the next couple of years. Moore, never one to miss a meal of course, is making a full course buffet out of it.

Oh, and don’t forget…. tea-partiers and Republicans are one and the same! (despite what they say and despite the ascendancy of goofballs like Christine O’Donnell)

I’m off to the completely apolitical, non-partisan Rally to Restore Sanity. Yay!

  • George Prager

Crabtree is acting like my mom when I was a teenager. On a Friday night I’d be like “Mom, I’m going to the movies with my friends tonight.” And she’s be like “Have fun. I’ll be doing laundry…sigh.”

Yes, and the tea-baggers wave around guns.

“Yes, and the tea-baggers wave around guns.”

They sure do, Deez. Every single goddamn one of ’em.

  • MechanicalShark

While I think the actions of the Paul supporters who attacked the woman are deplorable, I do find it equally deplorable that anti-Tea Party people are using it to dehumanize people they disagree with. They’re continuing the idea of politics as a bloodsport. For once, I agree with Travis that this is stupid. This is NOT how you fight the Tea Party. You don’t fight them with apocalyptic scenarios or accusations of being firebreathing retarded hell-demons. You merely point out how absurdly inanely silly they are. Also, GOOD JOB GUYS, you have successfully been played by the corporations. The Tea Party is NOT the enemy, it is a sideshow to the main event, which is America being fucked in the ass by corporations looking for short term profits. Amidst the cloud of toxic political rhetoric, the Princes of Wall Street are making out like kings, and setting up the law so in the future they can make even more money, with no taxation on it. I am reminded inevitably of The Wizard of Oz. “pay no attention to the man behind the curtain”. If only we had a Toto to lead us.

  • Kakihara

Travis: “They sure do, Deez. Every single goddamn one of ’em.”

Well, that or McVeigh-style pipe bombs…

Shark: “I do find it equally deplorable that anti-Tea Party people are using it to dehumanize people they disagree with.”

What’s humanistic about rallying behind a guy against civil rights?

  • George Prager

The porn stash was always well-hidden.

  • Thunderballs

Gotta love guys like Prager, they make the Klan proud the way they defend the beating of a black man by white thugs, and then go on to assassinate the guy’s character because he had the nerve, THE NERVE, to get beat up by white guys.

Remember folks, people like Prager say they support civil rights, but only if the minorities are liberals, otherwise fuck ’em! Black conservatives deserve to get beaten, because they don’t think in the “correct” way.

Prager, you and your buddy Chinaski are complete, raving racist scum.

  • Thunderballs

Wow, Kaki, amazing how Left wing sites will go out of their way to defend white thugs and attack the black guy they beat up. Tell me, do these left wing sites pick apart ALL stories by black men that get beat up by white guys? Oh, only conservative black guys, right? They’re traitors to their race and all, so I guess I understand. They deserve to get beaten, correct?

What about them hurling the N word at Gladney? You defend that too? Oh, you say that never happened either.

Again, are you always this hyper-detailed and doubting of all hate crimes? When a black guy alleges a hate crime, do you always swoop in to defend the white attackers? Just curious.

Kaki, Chinaski, and Prager – you guys would fit right in at a Klan meeting.

  • Cadavra

“Because a lot of those ‘imbeciles’ are the same ones who voted for Obama. I guess they weren’t imbeciles 2 years ago.”

You’re joking, right? You honestly believe that people who voted for an African-American President two years ago would suddenly do a 180 and join up with racist thugs? If so, I’d like to invite you to dinner with Harvey Fierstein, Jr.

Re the stomping incident: Please remember that this was NOT an isolated incident. A reporter was beaten and handcuffed by private security for daring to ask Joe Miller a question. And another man was beaten outside an appearance by Eric Cantor. And that’s just within the past few days. If you think this will suddenly cease the moment the Tea Partiers take over, then I’d like to invite you to dinner with…

  • Kakihara

Thunderballs: Dude, don’t give me this bullshit spiel about hate crimes. Your side didn’t even want to support laws against ’em until now. And you were willing to criticize Obama for calling out cops on racially-profiling a professor just a few months ago.

  • SpinDozer

‘If you think this will suddenly cease the moment the Tea Partiers take over’

Not Going To Happen. Funny thing, if it wasn’t for these morons, the GOP would get both houses, but the Tea Baggers will cost them safe seats. Of course, without the energy and bucks they brought to the GOP, they wouldn’t have threatened some of the Democrats they knocked out before the Primary.

  • tessab13

Thank you “C is for cookie”. Finally another person that sees that what we like to call “capitalism” in this country is anything but! And thank you “Cadavra” for your response to “62Lincoln”. I may not be happy with the job dems have done in the last two years, but I sure as hell am not going to turn around and vote for the GOP or Tea Party candidate.
