Bertie and Elizabeth: The Reluctant Royals played on Masterpiece Theatre in ’02 and came out on DVD in ’05. It acknowledged Bertie’s speech impediment but didn’t, to judge by reviews and comments, make a big deal of it. It was more about a couple that wasn’t exactly cut out for Buckingham Palace being thrust into it by fate and circumstance. It’s on Netflix Streaming. I suppose this one time I can put aside my dislike of watching films on my Powerbook.
I checked and no, it’s not available to stream on Netflix. only for DVD rental.
This is the second time today Jeff has said a film is available to stream on Netflix, but, at least as far as I can see, is not. The other being Kisses.
God, I can’t stand Juliet Aubrey. She is the reason I couldn’t make it through Middlemarch.
Noiresque: Heh, agree on that. Had to QC some low-rent movie for my dayjob with Juliet Aubrey, who I had never really seen before, and the whole time I was like, “WHO is this fucking HORRIBLE actress?” Mugging and hamming and ticky and mannered, pretty much the most instantly off-putting performer I’d ever encountered.
