Mud Pit

I unintentionally slipped into the annual QVC Red Carpet Style party last night at the Four Seasons. It was during last night’s rainstorm, of course, so water was dripping everywhere, and the fake grass lawn was soaked. And you could tell right away that most of the guests were nice-but-don’t-quite-get-it types. They included Kim and Kourtney Kardashian — I rest my case. Notice the girl sticking her tongue out at me during my 360 shot.

    I always enjoy Jeff’s man-on-the-scene phone-vids of these soirees, because they make me feel slightly better about what I’m missing out on. Don’t get me wrong, I’m sure they’re nice parties and nice people, but it always looks like some awkward mix of David Cronenberg-looking middle aged men and vaguely bored aging party girls standing around chatting about nothing while eating hors d’ouevres and some bunk DJ is playing that hilarious Caribbean Night loop from Social Network.

    I always imagined that EVERY Hollywood insider party was like some cross between the Eyes Wide Shut orgy and some highly cinematic club scene where DARUDE would be playing amidst strobe lights a la Vanilla Sky or Babel or Biutiful. Where are the block rocking beats and glazed Megan Foxalikes in fetish shoes strippers dangling from cages with nipples on their ass cheeks and chicks in lone ranger masks and Daneuve and Bowie looking down from a wire cage?
