  2. Another example to Jeff’s great comment about the introduction of characters in old movies such as Notorious is the intro of Bogart’s Rick in Casablanca.

    Also, as to the issue of Portman and Black Swan, you should read Jennifer Homan’s negative review of the film in a recent issue of the New Republic. Besides being trained as a historian, Homan was a professional dancer and thus has a lot of credibility.
