  2. Wow. The guy that co-wrote Knife in the Water 50 years ago. I guess I just kinda figured he was dead or something by now. Sounds pretty great.

    I don’t really understand your last paragraph here at all — aren’t the two leads around the same age here? — but then again, that’s really nothing new. These kind of movies have such a low awareness level to the general public, that I almost think the plot/character specifics make no difference to the critics championing them (in a sense, I almost think — the grimier, the better!).

    Don’t a lot of gay-themed films generally tend to have strong critical followings, anyway?

    I cringe every time I click over to Jim Emerson. It’s like reading a blog from Michael Sheen’s Midnight in Paris horrible pedant. Guys like him make moviegoing a chore–he turns the act of viewing into an ironic pose.
