“You Married?”
Prior to last night’s Moneyball screening at the AMC Lincoln Square I saw a somewhat longer and more plot-specific and dialogue-specific trailer for Tower Heist than the one released on 7.28. I was sold. It persuaded me that due to Eddie Murphy‘s standout performance, Tower Heist will probably be a funnier Ocean’s 11. The idea alone of Murphy doing Gabby Sidibe…the mind reels.
The embedded trailer here is an international version that somewhat resembles the one I saw last night, but isn’t exactly the same. The downside is that 15 or 20 of the jokes will now fall flat because everyone will have heard them 30 or 40 times by the time the film opens in November.

Gotta tell you, Tower Heist looks like it may be a winner…looking forward to it very much, esp Eddie Murphy.
The idea of Eddie doing any “female” is laughable.
I thought it looked awful….flat, dumb, not funny…
Having somewhat the same reaction as Sasha. I’m not finding the “seizure boy” thing funny; rather, it seems labored (both the riff and Stiller’s reaction). However, I can admit that the “you married?” is a great set-up for a few crude belly laughs, and I’m glad to see Sidibe getting a high-profile role in a movie that will be a hit.
Tower Heist is directed by Brett Ratner, therefore it will suck balls. QED.
The lazy, stunningly uninspired title alone should be enough to earn the contempt of anyone who cares a whit about movies. One assumes it was some kind of working title — i.e. ‘Untitled Brett Ratner Tower Heist Project’ — and then everyone involved just said, “Fuck it. Let’s just call it ‘Tower Heist.’”
But I guess the big question is, what are its Oscar chances???

I dislike Ratner but I have to admit this is the kind of movie he does well.
Ratner doesn’t do ANY type of movie well. Or any movie well. He’s never made one even half decent movie.
I think I felt more like seeing this from the first trailer but the bit with Gabby Sidibe was pretty funny.
