Looks like Obama stole Hillary's Kitchen Sink strategy by full-out blitzing McCain with negative ad after negative ad. It's vicious, it's unrelenting and no one knows if it'll work, but it's kind of refreshing to see Obama refusing to submit to this Palin bullshit.
The last gaffe Obama and the media are focusing on is McCain's old quote saying the economy is "strong." The economy is an issue that doesn't get enough focus, but Obama needs to do more than shove McCain's face in this gaffe; he needs to take...

Ron Fournier of the Associated Press is already knocking the Biden pick by arguing it accents Obama's weaknesses. He argues he had to pick Biden because he knows he's not strong in experience and foreign policy. Ah yes, to the public eye though. Obama has the absolute confidence in himself to run the country; he wouldn't have entered the race otherwise.

Second of all, everyone knows the VP selection is just spin anyway. VPs usually don't have that much effect in the White House, unless you're Dick Cheney. VP selections have always been designed to...Read More

We all know by now Obama has picked Biden for his VP. I'm sure there was of a lot of loud exhaling, since everyone else seemed boring and dull, like the Edwards pick when Kerry ran for President back in 2004. Biden brings experience, excitement, foreign policy credentials and a real ass-kicker personality in the debate field.
In a way, he's kind of like a Democratic version of Dick Cheney, as far as aggressiveness goes. However, as goes with every candidate, Biden has a red flag; he's got the mouth of his which tends to screw him over more times than most....Read More

Oh, how the mighty have fallen. An old campaign ad, dug up from The New Republic, from McCain's first run for office in Arizona back in 1982. It's eerie, but he spoke so much more fluidly when he was younger. More engaging, more trustworthy, and now look at him. A cranky old grump. Boy, what age does to you...

And Clinton's down rolling on the ground trying to gasp for air! What a hit to the stomach! Politico.com just reported that Hillary Clinton was never vetted for Obama's VP...eeek, that's not going to help the relations with the Clinton family and more importantly, Clinton supporters. They should have at least asked for her medical records, or something! Not that she had a chance in hell of being selected, it's a matter of respect for your adversary. No wonder Hillary isn't dancing around more for Obama. Remember that big Obama endorsement she gave? Well, now that seems even longer ago.

In the waning minutes before Obama names his VP selection, the Associated Press released one final name other than the usuals, Texas Representative Chet Edwards. Bizarre candidate. He's been around the House of Representatives since 1991, and has acted on the Appropriations Subcommittee, which is high stature for a representative. Other than that he seems like a friendly guy, but there's one funny joke about Chet. His district includes a familiar town, Crawford...Bush's town.

Before today, people were worried Obama was going to get assassinated if he were elected President. Even back in the primaries, some black voters didn't want to vote for Obama just because they didn't want him to die. Also not too long ago, police caught a nut-job with artillery and body armor raving about killing Obama.

Now McCain's getting some love. Two mysterious letters with "white powder" in them were delivered to McCain offices in Denver and Manchester, NH. Before anyone jumps the gun, the white powder could be anything, and this is just some...Read More

Wow, this Obama "house" ad has really got McCain's panties in a twist hasn't it? I mean why shouldn't it? Obama called out McCain for having too many houses, and that's WAY BELOW THE BAR! My God, did he really just say that? That's so much worse than tying Obama to Paris Hilton and Britney Spears, and way worse than calling him the anti-christ! I mean, where does Obama get off? (Can you sense my dripping sarcasm?)

McCain is SO pissed off, he's pulling out the big guns with another ad talking about Rezko's ties to...Read More

This is hilarious. Bayh sounds like a crack head, Kaine sounds eager but cool about it, and Biden doesn't seem to give a shit. I'm sure they're going more crazy about the delay than we are, so instead, we poke fun. Enjoy!

Some Clinton supporters are that of another species when it comes to losing. I mean, really, it's been months since the primary ended, and there's a threat of Clinton supporters rolling into the Democratic Convention blowing kazoos! Who blows kazoos? Seriously. Not only is their bitterness childish, but they come bearing arms!
"Bring out the kazoos! Let him have it boys!"

Well, anyway, Clinton, herself being gracious enough, has organized an anti-kazoo group. Not sure if things will get physical, but they plan on preserving a unified image at the convention. Sounds kind of...Read More

Looks like Obama isn't letting down on his ad attacks, and has been in McCain's face ever since he got back from Hawaii. This is good for him, but he's gotta quit the stump speeches on clean politics, and how he won't make personal attacks. This is a cage fight! With Obama's latest ad, he makes McCain seem out of touch by criticizing his amount of houses...just like McCain uses the celebrity card. Same thing.

VP buzz is stirring about "Advance Teams" from the Obama campaign heading out to Indiana for a "big event" on Saturday. This is indicating Bayh may be the final decision. There are conflicting reports, but the timing is right in the area where the VP announcement is expected.
There was a report Obama would be dropping by Virginia, Kaine's state, as well, but there wasn't a "big event" planned.
Also what could push the speculation is conservative leaders challenging Obama to pick Biden for VP. Rush Limbaugh says he's got lots of dirt on Biden, and that he'll roast him...Read More

My how the tables have changed!!!!! According to a Reuters/Zogby poll, McCain is now (brace yourself) actually leading Obama by five points, 46-41 percent. This is just ONE poll, mind you, but that's not what bothers me; it's the fact that McCain's lead is actually decent. I mean, that's a monstrous swap! Yes, I found this on Matt Drudge's site, but you get the feeling Drudge kind of likes Obama despite his conservative views.

The corresponding article then mentions the poll also voted that McCain has a better economic policy. Wait a second, we're talking about...Read More

Hmmmmm....who could it be? Well, apparently it's been cut down to three: Kaine, Bayh and Biden.
Whatever happened to that last minute proposal that Kerry was a possibility? Although it was a way too late mentioning, on paper, it didn't look too shabby.

Oh and apparently, Biden was recorded on video saying simply, "I'm not the guy. See ya." Lots of people, including my dad are cheering for Biden, so this might be deflating. Kind of a douche bag response too. However, it might all be a stunt, it might not. Hypothetically though, if it came...Read More

Every time I talk with my dad about Obama and his dwindling poll numbers, a light goes off in his head, and thinks it's just because of the racist hillbillies in Appalachia. He's right, it's a problem, but it's not THE problem. Call me naive and optimistic, but I don't think the race is going to come down to racism -- in the end, it's just the issues.

Anytime someone says it's just because he's a black guy, that's an instant cop-out! Let's be honest, I'm an Obama guy, but I'm not going to pinch my...Read More

Well, I'm back. It's been about three years since I last wrote for HE, but then again, I'm not here to talk film--it's politics. I'm 20-years-old now, and a lot has changed. This year's race for the White House is the first race I've actually paid attention to, or cared to. Most of that has to do with my maturity, but then again, it's hard to ignore the humming of an impending revolution.

I'll be heading to London to study abroad on August 25th, and will be commentating on the race until December, at least...Read More
